Improve blood circulation in the vessels with EECP therapy

EECP therapy is a non-invasive therapy for patients with coronary heart disease. It involves the application of cuffs to the arms and legs to improve blood flow and oxygenation of the vessels.

What is EECP Therapy

EECP is designed for patients suffering from angina pectoris (chest tightness/chest pain). EECP is for patients with heart failure or poor heart pumping function.

HOW DOES EECP WORK

  • Improvement of the ejection performance of the heart
  • Facilitation of cardiac work
  • Increase in blood flow to the coronary vessels
  • Increase in the release of vascular hormones to dilate the vessels, i.e. lowering of blood pressure
  • Stimulation of new vessel formation (natural bypasses)

OTHER EFFECTS:

Kidney disease

EECP improves kidney function. The kidneys are responsible for the excretion of urinary toxic substances. Impaired kidney function leads to the accumulation of these in the body with harmful effects on all organ systems. After 35 treatments, an increase in the filtration capacity of the kidneys could be demonstrated on the basis of the functional parameter cystatin C.

Brain performance

Many patients notice a decrease in brain performance as they get older. This is noticeable, for example, in the fact that one can no longer remember names so well or that the ability to concentrate decreases. EECP increases cognitive functioning (in patients with heart failure), which has been studied using various neuropsychological tests (memory, attention tests, logic tests, etc.).

Inner ear disorders (tinnitus)

By improving the blood flow to the inner ear with EECP, an increase in hearing ability of 19dB on average and a decrease in tinnitus intensity could be achieved in about half of the patients.
